About Us

The practice was formed in 1999 by Mark and Fiona Sivyer, although effectively evolved from a previous practice that was formed in 1993.

We work closely with our clients and act for a broad range of business and personal clients.

Apart from the more general accountancy services we can also assist you with business development and specialist tax services.

Our philosophy is always to do our utmost to...

  • Provide friendly, courteous and efficient service;
  • Always exceed your expectations;
  • Listen to what YOU are saying;
  • Communicate with you quickly and fully;
  • Never surprise you with bills you're not expecting;
  • Be honest, truthful and upfront with you at all times;
  • Aim for you to pay the least amount of tax payable within the law;
  • Provide pro-active business advice wherever possible.

We endeavour to stay at the forefront of technological advances. To date, we have always implemented the Inland Revenue and Companies House online filing services at the earliest opportunity. We have invested in the leading accountancy software which means we are able to deal with clients accountancy and taxation affairs in an efficient manner. We are very keen to use e-mail where possible and have arrangements in place where documents can be signed electronically online by clients, rather than needing to send paper documents through the post.

We have a very relaxed approach to business and are happy to fit in around our clients. As a general philosophy, we work without in trays which means we are able to be extremely reactive to the needs of our clients and work can normally be undertaken by return. If you are expecting to see an accountant in a suit, you are in the wrong place!

Mark Sivyer FCA (Director)

Mark qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1991 and has always worked in public practice. He sees himself very much as a general practitioner working with many businesses, varying from small sole traders through to limited companies with turnovers exceeding £20 million. He has a good knowledge of general taxation and business matters.

Beyond work, Mark enjoys spending as much time outside as he can at the weekends. He enjoys walking and loves the Cornish coastal paths. He successfully completed the Three Peaks challenge in 2011 and completed walking the entire Cornish part of the South West Coastal path in 2018, a total of 287 miles over 24 days.

Other interests are reading and football. He likes good food and wine, and is a self-confessed expert at home brew beer The weekends are always busy and it's nice to return to work on a Monday morning for a rest!

His ambitions are to continue working (which sadly he enjoys) and to stay fit, happy and healthy.
